Amish Furniture and CabinetryBranch Hill Joinery, now starting our 14th year, offers custom furniture, cabinetry, and quilts that are made by hand. Each piece of furniture and cabinetry is truly custom designed and hand built by traditional Amish craftsmen from Southern Michigan. The result is a unique work of art reflecting your character as well as the character of the artisan. All of our custom furniture, cabinetry, and quilts are handmade, signed, and dated. Our Amish furniture and cabinets are different from ALL of the other Amish furniture outlets. As you take a look at some of the other sites, you may notice that all of the other stores use exactly the same patterns. Much of this furniture is not actually made by hand, but rather is assembled from furniture kits! Our custom furniture and cabinet pieces feature original designs, fine craftsmanship, and natural oil and wax finishes that are non-toxic and environmentally "green". Our craftsman are some of the last Amish who still utilize hand tools and old-fashioned construction methods. Traditional dovetailing, mortise and tenon joints, as well as wooden pegs, are used throughout, offering strength, beauty and integrity. Hand tooling and natural finishing provides a unique lasting beauty to each piece. You can see and feel a difference. Joinery connects not only pieces of wood, but also connects two cultures. We invite you to participate in the unique experience of having Amish furniture and cabinetry handcrafted especially for you. Hear from a recent customerJust had to tell you how much I am enjoying my furniture. Finally started to put a few things in the drawers last night. All I wanted to do was admire it as fine art. The bed went together like precision machinery. It is so solid, no wiggle or play, feels like it was carved from a single piece of wood. I love every piece but the dresser is becoming my favorite. It is beautiful and, like the bed, the drawers fit together flawlessly. I open the drawers just to look at the dovetail joints made from the different woods. Thank you for your guidance with wood selection, sizes and construction methods. The furniture placement looks great together in the bedroom. The enjoyment of working with Branch Hill Joinery had been an experience I shall always remember fondly. He is doing well, thank you, and you can find out more about this at the Amish Quilt Raffle Info Page. Thank you! Copyright Branch Hill Joinery 2008 |
